Vancouver Opera approached us to produce a series of spots to promote 3 of their new productions this season, the first being West Side Story.
We wanted to make the spot unique to VOP, so we set it in Vancouver. At first we had trouble narrowing down our favorite scenes, but we solved that by retro-fitting the whole story into 15 seconds! We used a Saul Bass inspired style to pay homage to the original time period, and finished the spot using Vancouver’s iconic Woodward’s ‘W’ as the first letter in the title.
VOP liked the concept so much, they had us re-design their print campaign on bus wraps, posters, billboards, newspaper ads, flyers, programs, and more.
We couldn’t feel more pretty. [ahem, WSS reference]
